Flying is POP! HIP! IN! Whatever pleasant. And very sensual! - Not only in one's dreams.
The Lurton Bros. have so far been the best known flying team, but now a man of nobility from Spain has risen to his wings. The admired Marques de Grinon has also landed on the fertile soil of Argentina.
I've smiled with this winemaker's products* before, but had to fly all the way to London to 'resist' £400, and even £40, wines to make a £4.99 discovery. A Malbec that's been given a soft touch.
From the 'home' of Malbec, Luján de Cuyo, comes an original that's been touched with silk gloves. It's got that deep, dark colour and wide-nostril welcome. Then comes the familiar body with bulging sinews. And along the way those strong hands lift you up in a soft caress that's very much unlike the Jackson Pollock treatment. It's as if Mr. Grin-On is smiling gently and performing the taming of the shrew without breaking it's back.
"Man is like a tree, his roots lie in the earth of his country. Then the branches may spread out over the whole world. Of course, there are trees that hang in mid air and others that stand in the water. But those that are rooted in solid ground bear the best fruit."
-Marc Chagall (1887-1985), to whom I'm indepted for his art, and whose way of flying I admire the most.
