It's all there!

Some of you may have thought that your's truly has, during some past weeks, gone all the way to the gloomy side - along with the world. But that is one whale of an exaggeration. I have three very pursuasive counter-arguments to enlighten you:
1) I haven't been half as gloomy as the real-world situation would have demanded.
2) I'm still not un-optimistic about the long-term memory of mankind. - "There are many here among us" (once again a beloved phrase by Bob Dylan) who "read between the pages of a 'Look'" (thanks again, Bob - and to those who haven't the faintest what my capitalised "Look" means: a photo-journalism magazine way back then when wars were not on-line, and could be given more reflective visuals).
3) There, fortunately, is a realm of personal life inside.

To all of us a happy message: the sun is still in the sky. And the realm of greek enjoyment has never-ending offers even in it's basic repertoire; in the world of Retsina. - Now those of you who haven't been "enlightened", keep on reading to make me "Light My Fire" for you.

The resin in a Retsina is the THING. But the white wine is the THINGEST. - Now, take the world labels, Tsantali, Kourtaki, and you have one clean, incessantly repeating vision of Retsina. Approachable anywhere on this Tellus. - When, and if, you haven't gotten a view on the local Retsinas, you can be babbling as long as you like about Retsina.

Such a Retsina can be met where wine is most enjoyable. At the local place. And it will have to be "epitrapézios inós", a wine by the table, because there you will have the experience. With no studipity of erudite masks preventing enjoyment.

This Retsina is a soft, much softer than the world labels, white wine. Nothing in the way of sweetness in the wine. A very fresh, dry white, but all that over-acidity erased. And yet the resin comes out soft, mellow and lingering in an enjoyable white when you want to enjoy the hair-song, sit back, and relax.

We have done this. What is there more to be done.
The greek agora-tradition gives you some means of contemplation. Some of that should be taken advantage of world-wide.

(Thanks to Helga Hagman I've been able to understand and quote/write some of the things in greek, and have been given a way to translate (below) the story of the name on the label of this wine.)

And here comes the story of our Niobe in a short package:
She was the wife of Amphion, the king of Theba - with 7 sons and 7 daughters.
The women of Theba started a journey to pay their respects to Apollo's and Artemis' mother, Leto, one of Zeus' wives. This made Niobe furious, because she demanded equal respect to herself, having given birth to 14 children.
Leto heard about Niobe's anger on the island of Delos, and told it to her children, Apollo and Artemis, who rushed to Theba to revenge such a boasting.
Apollo and Artemis killed all Niobe's children, and even her husband, Amphion.
After this Niobe froze into a weeping stone, and flew, carried by a gust of wind, to her home in Lydia where she was stuck onto the peak of a mountain as a weeping rock of marble, and is there still shedding her tears.
