The big grape, bonarda, may roar a bit and raise some waves. But most of all Isla Negra is again like a young sailor, somewhat fool-hearted but definately more mature than his age.
So, it's this year's wine, but not anything like a raw Beaujolais Noveau. Our bonarda is a fruit of the difference in timing of the seasons on this planet. And a much bolder choice from Argentina, the paradise of hard-kicking soccer players, than what is customary in the ever so-so-sophisticated Europe. A long kick across the southern Atlantic, all the way up to the deep North. And quite a becoming red warmer in this beautiful, earthly landscape covered with the whitest of whites - snow.
A rustic experience with mighty muscles for it's price and age. A wine with a large nose from the very essence, the grape. Young and vigorous power to push the taste to the deeper parts of your mouth. One of these things when the meal should be a bit stronger, or the company more inclined to deeper thoughts.
