There's an old Finnish proverb: "If spririts, tar, and sauna don't cure you, your ailment is going to kill you." - So, I have a healthy wine to offer. Tar in your nose, tar in your mouth, and the real cabernet sauvignon bringing it all back home. With a manly posture! So, all you need is sauna. And the hotter the better!
For a while now my telescope has been aimed at South America. And not without reason. This is a beautiful red with a powerful nose, filled with enough body and lots of taste - including the noticeable tar. Ofcourse not quite as in the best of Riojas, but very enjoyably. Once again, simply (and economically) witnessing that even the classic grapes mature with distictive character when grown in the Mendozan soil.
This week's music is a version of Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here". With this wine it's a good wish for each and all of you - if you are the kind that gets high on cabernet sauvignon.
*If you want a translation of the headline, I'm more than willing to give you an explanation. The translation would take a talent like the late 'Poet of Finland', Pentti Saarikoski, one of the few who have been able to convey the meanings of Joyce's 'Ulysses' ('Odysseus') in a translation. We are fortunate in Finland.
